It’s an unpredictable world. PR is constantly changing. New trends emerge, disciplines converge, best practice evolves. Client and employer expectations are changing too. We can’t just rely on just doing what we’ve always done.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is about developing your career adaptability. It’s building the skills to meet tomorrow’s challenges. It’s giving yourself confidence to own the opportunities. It’s pausing to take stock of where you are and where you want to be.
And it’s part of being a professional. Clients deserve a trusted advisor with up-to-date knowledge. Employers need to know you have the commitment and capability to go further. Colleagues want someone who can spotlight best practice.
CIPR CPD is a free online resource to help you manage and record everything you do to develop your skills and knowledge.
We’ve all got different learning styles, budgets and career paths. CIPR CPD is designed to be flexible enough to meet everyone’s needs and goals. But whatever your CPD looks like, you’ll be setting yourself apart.
We think every CIPR member (except Students) should complete CPD, every year. It’s part of being a professional and it’s an essential part of becoming a CIPR Accredited or Chartered PR Practitioner.
CIPR CPD essentials:
- 28 February: each CPD cycle runs 1 March to 28 February
- 60 points: the number of points you need to log each year
- ‘Developing yourself’ or ‘Supporting others’: there are two CPD streams and you can log points in both.
